Types of Adsorbents and Applications

1.Molecular sieves are a type of adsorbent that can selectively adsorb different molecules. They are widely used in gas and liquid drying, separation, and purification processes. Additionally, they are applied in fields such as food packaging, pharmaceutical preservation, and moisture protection for electronic components.

Types of Molecular Sieves and Their Applications

Activated Molecular Seve powder: Specially used to remove water and bubbles in applications such as polyurethane AB glue, resins, PU running track coating, electronic potting compounds, and aluminum honeycomb panel adhesives, structural adhesive.

3A Molecular Sieve: Primarily used for the drying of ethylene, acetylene, and butadiene, and can also be used for natural gas drying.

4A Molecular Sieve: Mainly used in air compressors and dryers, as well as for drying in natural gas. It also serves in hydrocarbon separation, and certain catalytic reactions.

5A Molecular Sieve: Used for hydrogen gas drying, removal of carbon dioxide, and dehydration in hydrocarbon isomerization processes.

13X Molecular Sieve: Used for CO2 removal, desulfurization, and hydrogen gas drying.

13X APG: Applied in air separation units (ASU) to separate gases from air, producing oxygen and nitrogen.

13XHP Molecular Sieve: Used in oxygen generation systems for producing oxygen.

Carbon Molecular Sieve: Used in nitrogen generation systems for nitrogen production.

Insulating Glass Molecular Sieve: Mainly used for drying in insulating glass production and for moisture protection in pharmaceuticals and electronic components.

2.Activated Alumina

Activated alumina has numerous capillary channels and a large surface area. It is used as an adsorbent for air compressor drying, fluoride removal from drinking water, hydrogen peroxide production, and as a catalyst and catalyst support in various chemical processes.

KA401: Used in gas dehydration processes in air compressors.

KA402: Used for fluoride removal from drinking water.

KA403: Used in the anthraquinone process for hydrogen peroxide production.

KA404: Acts as a catalyst support.

KA405: Used in cryogenic air separation units as a pre-adsorbent placed beneath molecular sieves for drying.

3.Silica Gel

Silica gel is widely used as a desiccant in packaging applications to protect moisture-sensitive products such as medicines, luggage, shoes, and furniture.
